My poor Tosh. Just about every page leads to unresponsive script warnings or "not responding" micro freezes. And my phone battery must be dying, since it only seems to hold a charge for half a day. My phone is being a little pissy about uploading photos or video. Of course, the processing speed may be an issue... It's the original Samsung Galaxy Epic from three and a half years ago. All righty then. While Jason is home, he is going to factory reset Tosh. That means this evening, whatever he doesn't feel like upgrading/updating, I get to do. So the list I have set right now is:

• Upgrade the starter OS to Windows 7 Ultimate
• Upgrade starter to full Office Suite
• Install System Mechanic
• Download Avast
• Download Firefox

I have had this netbook for about three and a half years. I'm pretty hard on laptops, mostly because of constant use/overuse, wearing the letters off of keys, that kind of thing. Because I complained about the EMR having error messages, the IT people took my work laptop on Friday, though they never gave me an ETA on when I'd get it back. the borrowed one worked (but wthout internet) until about lunchtime today, when it just died and wouldn't turn on. another replacement turned on at first, then wouldn't. a third replacent ( Read more... )

Apparently, something glitched last night while I was trying to save the latest iteration of the document I was working on. Stupid Word lost ALL OF IT. The last version on my netbook is from Sunday night, so it lost all the stuff I worked on during my lunch hour at work, plus last night. grrrrrr.
